Freshers Fortnight!

Monday The first day of the fornight. Had quite a productive day and went swimming (but missed my gym induction by like two minutes!) Then the night arrived and it was the first visit to the Students Union for a bit of 'Fun Factory'

It was round robs for pre-drinks & playing 21, and then we headed off to the SU.

Was a really good night, a nice random group of people and some pretty random dancing!

Tuesday

Tuesday I have to admit I spent the most of it hungover but I did manage to get in for work between 6-9pm and then an early night in preperation for....

Wednesday

It was officially Metroes day! ... except it didnt happen. Round Robs again for some pre-drinkage and we went to the Students Union to pick up Kat but ended up staying. It was a really good night- Bar Exchange meant the drinks changed price throughout the night and it was always exciting to see how much Sambuca was!

Highlights of the night included the spotting of Glyn from Big Brother (and Katy speaking to him!) and the dropping of sausages on the floor :) a classic night!

Thursday

Today I had a meeting for the society (I'm not officially a member... just kind of a spare part!) to discuss things about the fayre next Thursday. It was off to work again till 9pm and then to Dans house for some pre-drinking before the VIP society party at the Union. (That's right, the third time in one week!)

Friday & Saturday

Very uneventful days. I watched alot of 'Strictly Come Dancing' and worked a bit...

Sunday

Today, Tash, Rob and myself went to visit the Museum, so soak up the culture and what not. Twas quite enjoyable- strange to see how different people appreciate different art!

Monday

The second week commences and we are greeted with Student loans!
I began the day by headed around the National Companies Fayre at the union and got some free angel delight! (Butterscotch of course!)
I went work-clothes shopping today and then headed off to the first day of dress rehersal at work. I pretend-sold a bed to my personel manager :)

Tuesday

Tuesday was pretty much taken up by work again. This time we started to get to know our section, looking at the beds and practising on the system. Twas informative but did make me a bit nervous for Thursday.

Wednesday

A day off from work so I went swimming and then to Robs AGAIN for some pre-drinking action. We headed off to Metroes early (or what we thought was early) and was faced with a stupidly long queue. It took an hour to finally get inside the club but was quite a laugh standing in the queue, speaking to random Irish boys and discussing whetherm or not Matt Damon is hot or not.

The club was brilliant. We sang loudly and drank £1.26 double vodka and cokes :)

Thursday

Wishing quite a bit that I hadn't gone out the night before, I headed off to man the stall at the Society Fayre. Was nice to see alot of interest in JUGS (Journalism Undergradute Society) and I'm am tres excited for the first social!

Then it was my first shift at work after the store had opened (*gulp*) I think I did okay- I didn't sell any beds or anything but I did have some nice chats with people and began to become much more comfortable with everything we sold.

Friday

Friday was pay day which was nice :) I had my second shift at work and then headed to the cinema to see 'Fame' which sadly was quite a bit of a let down.

Saturday

Work all day today, woke up at 7.30am and was impressed that I wasn't a zombie. Had a pre-shift breakfast with a few of the worklies and then headed to the shop floor where I proceeded to kill my feet by wearing heels for 9 hours.

After work I then went over to Tash's to watch 'Merlin' which, as per usual, was awesome!

Sunday

I decided to treat myself to the bag that I have loved since the moment I stepped into John Lewis for the first time. More of an investment really...

I also spent a considerable amount of time in the fancy dress shops buying things to wear when I dress as a geek next week.

Dashing don't you think?

And that concludes Freshers Fortnight. Lectures start again tomorrow, so I have to get my academic hat on now :)

For now x

And so it begins....

Freshers Fortnight is upon us and I celebrated in style last night by going to the Student Union for an "alternative" music night (which, was not alternative but I very much appreciated the Sum 41 and Offspring)

We went to Robs before hand and it was nice as a small mix of people- always are the best nights out in my opinion!

As per usual, I drank way too much vodka and danced a little too hard.

I also have a random hand bruise...

anyway, this is a short post just to inform my avid readers that I am in fact, alive. x

S&I trip to Birmingham!

Thought I would come on here and fill you all in on what I've been doing over the past week. WELL most importantly, I went to Birmingham. The train there was quite a laugh, with our train cocktails and difficult toilet changing sessions. Twas kind of ruined by the chavvy girls who started on us for saying NOTHING (okay, well we kind of did say something...) Then we arrived in Brum and were approached by a ladybird, Jack Sparrow and Tinkerbell :) so I started to look less strange which is always good. We then moved on to Tashas brother's 18th Party.

The next morning we headed to Selfridges to make ourselves feel poor. But we did see some pretty awesome things like this;

Then Rob left us to go back as he has Northern allergies and me and Tash went home to have an epic sleep of about 12 hours :)
The next morning (or should I say afternoon) we went to do the school pick up of Olivia and Alex-

This is Tash giving Alex a piggy back ride. Then I took over and ran was his slave, running when he told me to. We then headed to the cinema and I ate one of the biggest Hotdogs ive ever seen! We saw (500) Days of summer and despite it not being a love story, it was very sweet! We then moved onto watch the next film "District 9" which was very strange but yet strangely captivating!

We then headed home for my final night on the blow up bed (sad face) but not before a bit of trying on of wigs!

Twas such a lovely weekend and the first of many adventures to come! <3 x

Pimped out!

I realise I have already posted pictures of my new house. BUT since those pictures I have also been to the fabulous Ikea and brought so much for my room that it hardly looks the same.
Here are some pics;

I hope you avid blog readers all enjoyed that!
This week has been a very good one for post; I got a mirror delivered, a supergirl costume for saturday (SO excited about Birmingham!) and have posted a letter to the USA for my first penpal :)
