I doubt I was the first to do so, but I have coined a phrase called 'Boyfriend Syndrome.' Basically, it is when a boy/girl gets a new girlfriend/boyfriend and certain things begin to happen. Firstly, they start to feel that they don't really need much a social life outside of their relationship, meaning they start to go out less. They also begin to talk about their partner alot more than anything else and lastly, they become one half of a whole, with their partner generally attached to their hip.
Okay, I can see why people would think that me writing about this means Im simply jeolous, but it's not. It's the fact that, despite history and EVERYTHING having warned us that mates should come before dates, people still persist to ignore this. It's understandable that a change would happen initially, but to conitinue to the point when I can't remember the last time I saw a friend without her boyfriend, it's getting serious. I have one friend who, even when apart from her boyfriend, rings him and texts him or is talking about him. Why can't people be independent?! why do people strive so much to be half of a couple rather than one whole person?!
Cause lets be honest, relationships come and go. But your going to have to live with youself for the rest of your life. and how much fun is that going to be if you have no friends left to share it with?!

ohmygosh, i HATE "boyfriend syndrome". a few of my friends have been hit by this condition and it is life-threatening i.e. they end up having NO life. let's hope the number of diagnoses decreases.
